Chess Clicks - Mid January 2023 edition

 Happy New Year 2023!

✨ Here is the first edition for this year, the 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐄𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.
In case you don’t know what an Edition is, it contains upcoming tournaments, some workshops & chess news😊
In January, there are a few local tournaments in 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐚, namely tournaments in 𝐏𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠, 𝐌𝐲𝐝𝐢𝐧, 𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐞𝐧’𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞, & 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐛𝐲 𝐌𝐂𝐅. In the 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬, there’s the 𝐌𝐚𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐛 𝐭𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, and their club is actively doing standard events up till September in 2023! Following on, the 𝐀𝐬𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐅𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 will be hosting an online 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐎𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫 through zoom from 5th-8th January.
In February, Taylor's University Chess Club will be having their 2nd event, the 𝐓𝐂𝐂 𝐔𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐡 𝟐.𝟎 on 𝟒𝐭𝐡 𝐅𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲, with a total prize fund 𝐑𝐌𝟓𝟗𝟎𝟎! It’s a FIDE rated open rapid individual event, the 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧 prize is 𝐑𝐌𝟏𝟎𝟎𝟎! Registration link : https://bit.ly/TCCUC2
Also in February, there’s the 𝐌𝐞𝐬𝐚𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦 event on 𝟏𝟏-𝟏𝟐𝐭𝐡 𝐅𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲, 𝐑𝐃 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 on 𝟏𝟗𝐭𝐡 𝐅𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲, & 𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝟑 𝐃𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐚 on 𝟐𝟓-𝟐𝟔𝐭𝐡 𝐅𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲. Currently, there is one event in March which is the 𝐏𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢 𝐐𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐌𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐤𝐚 𝐔𝟏𝟖𝟎𝟎 𝐅𝐈𝐃𝐄 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 on the 𝟏𝟖𝐭𝐡 & 𝟏𝟗𝐭𝐡. And a World event that has already been released by FIDE is the 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 in 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐜𝐞 from the 𝟏𝟑𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐨 𝟐𝟑𝐫𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥.

 The 17th Malaysian Chess Festival 2022 has finally come to a close with the closing ceremony taking place on the night of the 11th September 2022 in the Grand Ballroom at Cititel Hotel, Mid Valley.
